What was the concern?
The patient had already finished orthodontic treatment, but black triangles between the front teeth and the overall tooth shade made her self-conscious when smiling. Because she showed many teeth when smiling, we planned veneers on 10 teeth — premolar to premolar — with whitening for the lower teeth.
How was it treated?
Her alignment was already good, so under the dental microscope we removed only a whisper of enamel — essentially a no-prep to minimal-prep veneer case, preserving as much natural tooth as possible. We used Ivoclar’s IPS e.max CAD, a ceramic with more than a decade of clinical data behind its translucency, strength and bond to natural teeth, in a shade that lets the natural tooth glow through without looking flat. Total treatment time: 3 days.
